Tannor – RandD Corp is building a luxury home for its owner in Montecito on a private lane off of Olive Mill Road. The house is designed to be a passive house. Robert Tannor has studied Passive House building techniques and is a certified Passive House Institute Tradesperson. Passive House building was originated in Germany by Professor Wolfgang Feist and Passive House United States (PHIUS), changed the standards to incorporate geographic location specific modeling into the design process.
The house is being built off-site in Oregon at a high performance modular builder and shipped to Santa Barbara for installation on the foundation.
We have worked with the County of Santa Barbara to achieve energy efficiency and other design improvements to be a Santa Barbara Build Better home (SB2 Program).
We will be providing tours and talks about the design and construction of the home.
